Tramping Toronto

After flying from Newfoundland we had six hours in Toronto before boarding the train. It was 4 degrees in St John’s when we left which we had begun to really enjoy. It was 27 degrees in Toronto! What a contrast. We decided to spend the day just tramping the streets and reckon we covered about five kilometers in lieu of the long train trip ahead.

Though cities are cities… we had a couple of interesting interactions with locals…from the Lebanese limousine driver (cheaper than cabs), to the café waitress who gained her teaching degree from the Wollongong university, to the $2 store owner who had no memory of the source of the 20 odd year old Australian retro naff souvenir tea towels he had stashed in  the Aladdin’s den at the back of his store.

It was a great way to pass through.
